Canonically, the craftsman style living room seems to work well as a cozy living space when there isn't a lot of room to work with and relies on warm colors and an abundance of furniture to create a sense of home.
What Exactly Is A Craftsman Style Living Room?
While it's not the same concept, the easiest way to explain the craftsman style living room is to compare it to a hobbit home. The primary feature of the craftsman living room design is warmth, created via color, closeness, and comfortable furniture that's not afraid to improvise.
This improvisation could take the shape of scattering pillows across a shelf to make it into an impromptu couch for the occasional visitor—perfect for the spirit of the craftsman. The most important element is wood. It informs the emphasis on the simple natural beauty that defines the style. Craftsman furniture is almost never painted, instead of showcasing the rich grain of the wood, which is usually oak but can appear in other species.
